Having a depth of knowledge and experience operating in an open pit environment, we are now embarking on an exciting new chapter – we’re going underground and we’re inviting innovative, enthusiastic and driven individuals to join us on our inaugural underground journey.

We are in the early stages of development, with production anticipated in late 2023.

Kanmantoo Copper Mine is one of Australia’s best kept mining secrets. Hidden amongst the quaint country towns of the vibrant Adelaide Hills yet is only a short 40-minute drive to Adelaide and a 20-minute drive to one of SA’s fastest growing areas, Mount Barker. Previously operating an open-cut mine, Hillgrove has established itself as valuable member of the community through award winning consultation, progressive site revegetation and providing opportunities for local employment.

Contractors at Kanmantoo

We work closely with a number of contractors, some who are situation on-site at Kanmantoo permanently, while others may visit regularly or work on special projects only.

Residential Site

We are located in a highly populated area, with staff coming from the local townships in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Some choose to live in the city or by the beach. Kanmantoo presents a unique opportunity rarely seen within the resources sector - an opportunity for applicants seeking to establish a balance between their work and personal commitments, who wish to become part of an energetic and committed team.

With a ‘Local-Hire’ policy applying to the Kanmantoo Copper Mine, you must live nearby or be prepared to relocate (at your own expense) to the area to be considered for employment. We strongly believe in forming direct relationships with our local community and providing opportunities when possible. We do not offer “fly in/fly out” or related accommodation and catering.

Graduate and Vocational Programs / Placements

We offer Graduate and Vocational, when placements become available at the Kanmantoo Copper Mine we will advertise them on Seek, LinkedIn and education job expos. Graduate students are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) regarding research projects they may wish to undertake in relation to the Mine. Each EOI will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine merit, relevance to the site and availability of Hillgrove staff to assist in the project.
