Chairman

Derek Carter

Derek has more than 50 years’ experience in exploration and mining geology and management. He held senior positions in Burmine Ltd and the Shell Group of Companies where he was responsible for discovering the Los Santos tungsten deposit in Spain, before founding Minotaur Gold NL in 1993. He resigned as Chair of Minotaur Exploration Ltd in November 2016. Derek was awarded AMEC’s Prospector of the Year Award (jointly) in 2003 for the discovery of the Prominent Hill coppergold deposit, the AusIMM President’s Award and is a Centenary Medallist.

Derek is currently the Chair of Petratherm Limited (ASX: PTR). Derek is a member of the Audit and Risk and the Remuneration Committee.

Bob Fulker

Bob is a highly experienced Mining Engineer with 39 years of experience in the minerals industry. He has held Senior Executive positions at Evolution Mining and OZ Minerals, where he was responsible for leading the safe and efficient delivery of significant operations.

Bob’s extensive experience spans Australia, Africa, and Canada, where he has consistently achieved outstanding results in various mineral sectors. His strategic leadership in corporate roles and operational excellence through innovative solutions have significantly enhanced safety, operations, and profitability.

Throughout his career, Bob has worked with industry leaders such as Rio Tinto, Normandy Mining, BHP, OZ Minerals, and Evolution Mining.

Non-Executive Director

Murray Boyte

Murray has over 40 years’ experience in merchant banking and finance, undertaking company reconstructions, mergers and acquisitions in Australia, New Zealand, North America and Hong Kong. Murray holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from the Victoria University in Wellington and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand. In addition, Murray has held executive positions and directorships in the transport, horticulture, financial services, investment, health services and property industries.

Murray is currently Chair of National Tyre & Wheel Limited (ASX: NTD). He retired as the Chair of Eureka Group Holdings Limited (ASX: EGH) on 25 February 2025, and as a Non Executive Director of Eumundi Group (ASX:EBG) on 14 February 2025.

Murray is a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

Roger Higgins

Roger has over 50 years of experience in the resources industries, including being a former Managing Director of Ok Tedi Mining Limited in Papua New Guinea and Senior Vice President Copper at Canadian metals and mining company Teck Resources Limited. He was also Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with BHP Base Metals (Australia) and held senior operations and project positions with BHP in Chile. He is an Adjunct Professor with the Sustainable Minerals Institute, University of Queensland.

Roger is currently a Non Executive Director of Worley Limited. He was also recently the Chair of both Minotaur and Demetallica Limited and a Non Executive Director of Newcrest Mining Limited.

Roger is a member of the Nomination, Audit and Risk, and Treasury Committees.

Luke Anderson

Luke Anderson is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience in financial management, corporate development, and executive leadership across the resources and transport sectors in Australia and the U.S.

He has held senior roles including CEO of One Rail Australia and Andromeda Metals, President and CEO of Unimin Corporation, and CFO of OZ Minerals. Luke brings deep expertise in corporate strategy and financial operations to Hillgrove Resources, supporting the company’s continued growth.

Nick Bartsch

Nick Bartsch is an experienced mining leader with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Adelaide.

He brings a strong operational background, having held key roles at OZ Minerals and Iluka Resources before stepping into his current role as General Manager at Hillgrove Resources.

Throughout his career, Nick has led diverse teams, driven operational excellence, and consistently delivered strong safety and performance outcomes.

Known for his collaborative leadership style and deep industry expertise, he is committed to continuous improvement, workforce development, and advancing sustainable growth across Hillgrove’s mining operations.

Nick Bartsch

Nick Bartsch is an experienced mining leader with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Adelaide.

He brings a strong operational background, having held key roles at OZ Minerals and Iluka Resources before stepping into his current role as General Manager at Hillgrove Resources.

Throughout his career, Nick has led diverse teams, driven operational excellence, and consistently delivered strong safety and performance outcomes.

Known for his collaborative leadership style and deep industry expertise, he is committed to continuous improvement, workforce development, and advancing sustainable growth across Hillgrove’s mining operations.

Mine Manager

Rob Parsons

Rob Parsons is an accomplished underground mining engineer and the current Mine Manager at Hillgrove Resources.

With almost 2 decades of Underground mining experience Rob has worked in a wide range of operations from narrow vein mining with paste fill, rock fill and open stope, bulk open stoping both filled and unfilled and sub level caving.

Rob has spent time working on the operational side, managing a large underground workforce across multiple operations as well as on the technical side managing Underground mines. His leadership is defined by a strong commitment to operational safety, production efficiency, and sustainable mining practices.

At Hillgrove, Rob plays a critical role in operational performance, regulatory compliance, and team development to support the company’s growth and delivery. Known for his collaborative style and technical expertise, Rob is a respected leader in the mining sector.

Surface Operations Manager

Glenn Norris

Glenn joined Hillgrove Resources as the Processing Plant Manager in 2011 and has held several roles with the company spanning site care and maintenance, operations, underground feasibility study works, environmental compliance, community engagement and is currently the Surface Operations Manager.

As a qualified and experienced Chemical Engineer, Glenn also holds a Master of Finance and has gained a wealth of knowledge from exposure across a range of operational, technical, management and consulting roles in both Australia and Canada over the past 25 years.

Commencing his career in metallurgy, he held various positions with Xstrata Mount Isa Mines (Queensland), BHP Olympic (South Australia) and Lennard Shelf Pillara Lead-Zinc Mine (WA). Glenn then spent three years in Canada with Barrick Gold as Mill Manager at the Hemlo Gold Mine before returning to Australia and commencing with Hillgrove.

Technical Services Manager & Chief Geologist

Caitlin Rowett

Caitlin Rowett is an experienced mining professional with a Bachelor of Science Majoring in Geology and Geophysics (Honours) from the University of Adelaide. Caitlin brings a strong technical background with over 15 years experience working on Mine Sites and Exploration Programs around South Australia in both Copper and Gold deposits.

Caitlin joined Hillgrove in 2019 and commenced work on the development of an Underground Operation including leading the resource drilling programs and being a key team member in the Technical Studies for the project development. As the project transitioned back into operation Caitlin has led the Technical Services Team in developing innovative processes.

Caitlin also works as the Chief Geologist using her Geological knowledge to guide our exploration and resource development projects.

Sustainability Superintendent

Viv Naidu

Viv Naidu is a Mining Engineer with 10 years’ experience in the resources sector, having worked across a diverse range of projects in underground hard rock mining and open pit operations.

Viv’s career has exposed him to a wide variety of operations in South Australia, Western Australia and New South Wales, with a primary focus on Copper, Gold and Zinc. During his career, Viv has gained comprehensive technical knowledge of both underground and open pit mining techniques, from sub-level open stoping drill & blast, mine planning, production, backfill, ventilation, ground support, surveying and rehabilitation, and has undertaken practical experience in both domains.

Viv holds a First Class Mine Managers ticket in WA and NSW and is passionate about leadership and management by promoting a collaborative approach to fostering strong relationships and is driven by inspiring and motivating teams to achieve excellence. Outside of his professional career, Viv is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of mining professionals to ensure a healthy pipeline of industry talent.

Viv has been an active member of the AusIMM, having held multiple roles in the Adelaide Branch Student Chapter, Adelaide Branch Committee, and was the former President for the New Professional Network.
